- DO you have any way to test your surge protector? It could well be the
- device worked, and got blown away by some storms and that is when
- your modem died.

- Are you using El-Cheapo modems?

- Is the house grounding system working? Surge protectors don't do any good
- if you have high impedance house grounding.

- I would suggest you check to see if the ground wires to the surge protector
- are any good.
